- Deliveroo reveals the top Deliveroo orders across different areas of Galway, Limerick and Cork
- There's local and familiar influences, but ethnic and international dishes are not far behind
Food delivery has evolved from the occasional Saturday night visit to the local chipper for a treat to a daily occurrence at any time of the day with just the tap of an app. As food freedom develops, our tastes have too, but County pride remains constant.
The latest Deliveroo data reveals interesting ordering trends across Galway, Limerick and Cork. Depending on where you reside has a lot of influence on what you order.
Galway
Galway's faves show a firm love of Mexican and Asian, but homegrown Supermac's retains its title as delivery of choice for the loyal residents of Newcastle. Ballybrit, home of the Galway Races keeps the homegrown race going with their favourite order from Galway native Xian Street Food.
The epicentre of Galway City, Eyre Square is a firm meat eater with a top order from Wholly Cow Burger.

South of the Shannon, Limerick City has more of a penchant for all things fried, with Abrakebabra topping the palates of Annacotty and Best Pizza and Kebab curbing Castletroy's cravings. Boojum is the top choice for Dooradoyle and Limerick Institute of Technology respectively.
Interestingly, as you move east across the city, Eastern influences become apparent with Lana Asian Street Food being the flavour of favour in Galvone and Aroi in the townland of Singland.

Cork
Undeniably the proudest County and City in Ireland, Cork curiously has differences in opinion when it comes to food preference north and south of the Lee. The North of Lee Side has a love for local and Irish with West Cork Burger Co. topping the list for Blackpool and Supermacs in Gurranebraher.
South of the Lee, Deliveroo customers prefer something a little spicier with Lal Quila in Mahon, Koto along The Lough and Phoenix House in Douglas.

Universities versus ITs
As well as taste differences across the Deliveroo cities, Deliveroo's data reveals that Ireland's universities and ITs orders of choice differ significantly from city to city.
Galway's NUIG and GMIT may have a shared love of carbs, but NUIG favours a Mexican from Boojum, while GMIT favours Subway. The students of Limerick love their food fast and flavoursome with Pizza Hut on the taste buds of UL and Boojum on LIT's.
Cork's third level institutions follow the preferences of Galway, with Boojum being the top order for the students of CIT and Apache Pizza remaining firm with UCC.
A spokesperson for Deliveroo said, "Deliveroo is all about giving people the freedom to eat what they want when they want and Ireland's eating habits reflect our unique preferences across different cities and townlands.
"It's also really great to see local and Irish restaurants hold their own among newer influences and fusions." they added.
