- Deliveroo data reveals the top food orders by location in Dublin City
- Northsiders are more likely to support local Irish restaurants
- Southsiders are forgoing meat and opting for vegetarian/plant-based dishes
The age-old rivalry between North and Southsiders is relentless, but Deliveroo wants to unite them with a love of food. Data of food order trends in Dublin has revealed an extensive list outlining the top food orders in each area - with some very interesting finds.
Below are the top orders in some of the largest areas in North and South Dublin based on population:
Northside:
Artane | Fajita from Boojum |
Cabra | Diavola from Sano Pizza |
Ballymun | Chargrilled Chicken Skewers from Camile Thai |
Beaumont | Pork Gyros from Yeeros |
Arran Quay | Cheese Burger from Five Guys |
Phibsboro | Chicken Tenders from Camden Rotisserie |
Clontarf | Eggs Benedict from Farmer Browns |
Whitehall | The Conor McGregor Pizza from The Back Page Pizzeria |
Ashtown | The Bacon CheeseBurger from the Chili Shack |
Smithfield | 5oz Beef Burger with Bacon & Cheese Burger from Supermacs |

Crumlin | Pig In A Box from Meat Wagon |

Ballinteer | The Tiger Roll from Musashi |
Terenure | PBP Brekkie Roll from The Pot Bellied Pig |
The two rival halves of Dublin have more in common than we may think - but the data reveals some interesting quirks.
Support Local
Data shows that those of the Northside are more likely to order from Irish restaurants than their neighbours south of the Liffey, with several Irish-owned favourites like Supermacs and Farmer Browns occupying a large amount of Northside orders.
Vegetarian
The overwhelming majority of vegetarian or plant-based dish orders come from Dublin's Southside, where salads and soups are front and centre. Some of the Southside's most popular vegetarian orders come from restaurants like Umi Falafel and The Garden of Vegan.
Deliveroo has also revealed the top food orders from the students of Dublin City's main colleges and universities.
Trinity College Dublin | Chicken Breast Sandwich from Supermacs |
University College Dublin | Chicken Katsu from Wagamama |
Dublin City University | Spice Bag from Wok On In |
National College of Ireland | Cheese Dog from Five Guys |
Technological University Dublin | Bacon Cheeseburger from Five Guys |
Winner Winner, Chicken Trinner?
Going completely against the boujee stereotype that TCD students are supposed to embody, the most ordered dish by those from Trinity College Dublin is a humble yet satisfying Chicken Breast Sandwich from Supermacs. Dinner for Winners?
A spokesperson for Deliveroo said, "Deliveroo is all about giving people the freedom to eat what they want when they want and Dublin's eating habits reflect our unique preferences.
"Taste in food can tell a lot about a person, and as can be seen from the findings - it can show us just what our similarities and differences actually are." they added.
